Dear Virginia and others, It was good to hear about the Cumberland poem. Two friends and I have set up the Cumbria Holy Wells Trust, and are slowly tracking down the existing wells of Cumbria and putting together up-to-date information. If anyone has any information or stories about Cumbrian holy wells, we would love to hear from you. (Our primary source of info is Jim Taylor Page's 1990 booklet: Cumbrian Holy Wells.)
