I think Bank Plain in Norwich (formerly Redwell Street) was named after Gurney's Bank in the 19thC.

Subject: [EPNL] Bank St, Newquay

According to https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cornwall-53485139, "As financial firms flocked to it Newquay's Bank Street was born - but for the first time in more than 120 years there will soon be no banks left on it."

Most Bank Streets are so named because they climb up a bank, and this one is steep too.   Is it really named after financial firms?

Keith
