The Conge is the name of one of the old rows of Great Yarmouth.    The name can be found in documents in the Norfolk Record Office back to the 18th century, with no spelling variations and usually with the definite article, but one mention as "Conge Street otherwise George Street" (Y/D 11/61-98).

What is a conge?

Keith
