It was founded in 1992 and currently has 70 member institutions across the UK. It aims to provide a platform for all European Officers in HE and more specifically to: To provide opportunities for higher education staff involved in European activities to share experiences. In particular, provide initial professional development opportunities for staff new to European activities. To promote models of good practice in obtaining European Union funding and in managing European Union programmes by sharing experiences of those working in this area within higher education. To represent the views of its members when dealing with national and international professional and educational bodies, including the production of positioning papers on strategic issues and to act as a channel of communication between such organisations and HEURO's members. To promote the benefits of Internationalisation in Higher Education.
