Apologies for the non-English question, but I've been puzzled about this since visiting the place called Les Dunes in Poitiers a couple of weeks ago. Was there really a Gaulish word dubes (I doubt it), and if so how did it develop to Dunes? (The text of this information panel can be found copied onto several websites, none of which questions the claim.)
